Having worked in the industry professionally for more than 20 years, my recent move to self-employment in April 2022 has really opened up opportunities to work with others in the industry who I have always respected, and the chance to truly get creative.
The Global Bushcraft Symposium in 2022 felt like a landmark moment for bushcraft collaborations, something I’ve always been very keen on and am thoroughly enjoying exploring.
If you’d like to discuss running a course or expedition together, please get in touch.
Examples of a.woodsman collaborations to date are:
Lure of the North

My first true partnership working with Ontario-based snowshoe expedition company Lure of the North, working two winter seasons in Winter 18/19, 19/20 and Winter 23.
Living by Nature

The Year Course – Following the first season in Ontario, Canada in 2019, a new friendship and collaboration opportunity arose with Thijmen Apswoude of Living by Nature. This has led to the launch of the Year long course in the UK in March 2024, an immersive primitive skill training program which culminates in an expedition to Sweden.
Howl Bushcraft

Borealis Winterland – This is a 5 day immersive experience in the Swedish Borealis, complete with hot tents, open skies and (if we’re lucky) some fantastic sights of the Northern Lights. Co-written and co-delivered with Jamie Dakota of Howl Bushcraft and Jeremias and Hannah of Northern Soul Journeys.
Mokotaugan course – a weekend spent learning to make this native American draw knife in addition to other chisels and tools.
Mocassin Making – a one-day workshop enabling you to make your own winter moccasins, perfect for adventures in the snow.
