Ancient Fires

This fantastic new collaboration with Jamie Dakota, and Billy Souter showcases a host of fire lighting methods from across human history, and enables you to explore, develop and hone your own skill at ignition of the native fire.

In this course we focus on those types of ignition sources that stretch back deep into human history, and we utilise the earliest forms of each to temper our understanding of fire lighting to our ancestors. From the earliest examples of Friction fire, to the beginnings of chemical ignition, the oldest sparks, to harnessing the sun; during this course you’ll experiment with each alongside the encouraging tuition from the team.

The course is fully catered, and here we’ll use the fire to cook feasts from history as a means to utilise the camp fire in a diverse and primitive way.
